Synopsis
In the far future, thick clouds cover the Earth and sunlight no longer gets through. Plants die and the air holds little oxygen. To survive, people use a process called transfloration, which turns a person into a plant that gives off a little oxygen. Toshiro Kamiya is out of options: his mother is sick, and his wages barely cover her medicine, let alone food. He weighs giving up his body for money, which forces him to choose between his family and himself. Shaft and Sunrise adapt the manga as a psychological science fiction thriller.
